Dr. Ryan knows all too well what it is like to feel self-conscious about your smile. From adolescence on, his teeth were crooked and his upper canine stuck out and looked like a fang. He also had several very narrow front teeth and a back tooth that didn't fit into his mouth, so when he smiled, it looked like the tooth was missing. As a kid, his family couldn't afford braces to fix the issues, so he learned to live with it, and tried to smile with his mouth closed most of the time. It wasn't until he was 27 years old that he got braces to correct these issues, and after 30 months in braces and a little composite bonding by Dr. Janie, he now has a smile that he is proud of and he doesn't hesitate to smile wide or laugh out loud (usually at his own bad jokes).
We know firsthand how life changing orthodontics can be for patients because of the impact a great smile can have on self-esteem.
